1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, which ones we use on www.condorresearch.com (the “Website”), why we use them, how long they persist, and how you can control or withdraw your preferences.
This Cookie Policy forms part of our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it. Defined terms used but not defined here have the meaning given in the Privacy Policy. By using the Website, you acknowledge this Policy. For non-essential cookies, your consent is collected separately through our cookie consent tool and is always required before such cookies are placed. Strictly necessary cookies, which do not require consent, are placed automatically so that the Website you have requested can function.
The legal framework governing our use of cookies includes:
(a) Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), in particular as it applies to consent requirements for processing personal data via cookies;
(b) Directive 2002/58/EC on privacy and electronic communications (ePrivacy Directive) and its Slovak transposition (Zákon č. 452/2021 Z.z. o elektronických komunikáciách, as amended, which with effect from 1 February 2022 repealed and replaced the former Zákon č. 351/2011 Z.z.);
(c) Guidelines of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), in particular Guidelines 05/2020 on consent, Guidelines 03/2022 on deceptive design patterns, and Guidelines 02/2023 on the technical scope of Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive;
(d) Guidance issued by the Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky.
This Policy is addressed to all visitors to the Website. Nothing in it excludes, restricts or modifies any mandatory data-protection or consumer-protection right that you may have under applicable law and that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) by a website when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits and perform various functions, from maintaining your session to measuring how many people visit a page.
Similar technologies that may, depending on their configuration, fall within Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, and which this Policy describes for completeness, include:
- Local storage and session storage — browser-based key-value stores that function similarly to cookies but are not transmitted with HTTP requests;
- Pixel tags / web beacons — tiny transparent image files embedded in pages or emails that register whether and when a page or email has been opened;
- Browser or device fingerprinting — a method of recognising a device by combining technical characteristics (such as browser version, screen resolution, or installed fonts), which may or may not involve storing data on the device itself but which involves gaining access to information relating to your terminal equipment.
Our position on fingerprinting. We do NOT use device or browser fingerprinting for analytics, advertising, audience measurement, tracking, or profiling, and we do not build, buy, or share any fingerprint-based identifier for those purposes. Limited device and connection characteristics (for example, the technical attributes listed in section 4.6 of our Privacy Policy) may be processed transiently by our security and fraud-prevention systems strictly to protect the Website, secure your session, and detect fraudulent or abusive transactions. Where this involves gaining access to information relating to your terminal equipment, that processing is strictly necessary within the meaning of Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive to provide the secure service you have requested; it is not retained as a tracking identifier, is not used to follow you across websites, and is described in sections 4.6 and 8 of our Privacy Policy. We do not perform fingerprinting for any non-essential purpose; if we ever propose to do so, it will first be added to the register in section 5 and, unless strictly necessary, gated behind your consent through the consent tool.
Collectively, the technologies described above are referred to in this Policy as “cookies” unless specifically distinguished.
3. Who Sets Cookies on This Website
Cookies on the Website are set either by us (“first-party cookies“) or by third-party providers acting under our instruction or whose scripts we embed on the Website (“third-party cookies“).
We do not permit advertising networks, data brokers, or ad-tech platforms to set cookies on this Website. Our third-party cookie footprint is limited to the service providers described in section 6 below.
4. Cookie Categories
We classify cookies into four categories in accordance with the ICC/EDPB framework.
Category 1 — Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Website to function. They enable core features such as user authentication, session management, shopping cart persistence, checkout security, and security monitoring that is strictly necessary to operate the Website and to protect it and your transaction against fraud and abuse. They do not collect information used for marketing or analytics.
Fraud-prevention and security processing is treated as strictly necessary only to the extent it is essential to deliver the secure service you have explicitly requested (for example, protecting your active session and checkout against tampering and fraudulent payment). Any fraud-prevention processing that is not strictly necessary — for example, cross-session behavioural risk profiling — is not performed through strictly necessary cookies; where it would rely on storing or accessing information on your device, it is consent-gated under Category 3 and appears in the register in section 5.
Legal basis: These cookies do not require your consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as they are strictly necessary to provide the service you have explicitly requested. They are set automatically.
Category 2 — Functional / Preference Cookies
These cookies enable the Website to remember choices you have made, such as your country setting, preferred language, previously dismissed notices, and checkout preferences. They improve usability but are not essential for the Website to operate.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive). These cookies are only set if you have given consent through the cookie consent tool.
Category 3 — Analytics and Performance Cookies
These cookies collect aggregated and, where required, anonymised information about how visitors use the Website — pages visited, time on site, error pages encountered, navigation paths — as well as order-attribution and referral measurement. This information helps us improve the Website and understand usage patterns. Order-attribution and referral measurement are treated as analytics; they are not strictly necessary to deliver checkout and are therefore consent-based.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive). These cookies are only set if you have given consent.
Current analytics tools: At the date of this Policy, we do not operate a third-party analytics platform (such as Google Analytics) on the Website. Server-side access logs are maintained for security and operational purposes under our Privacy Policy. If we introduce a client-side analytics tool in the future, this Policy will be updated and consent will be sought before any such cookies are placed.
Category 4 — Marketing and Targeting Cookies
These cookies track your activity across websites and are used to build a profile of your interests and deliver targeted advertising or remarketing campaigns.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive). These cookies are only set if you have given explicit, specific consent.
Current position: At the date of this Policy, we do not operate advertising, retargeting, or affiliate tracking cookies on the Website. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks. If we introduce such tools in the future, this Policy will be updated and consent will be obtained before placement.

We do not classify any order-attribution, referral, or analytics cookie as strictly necessary. The WooCommerce order-referral/attribution cookie (tk_or) is not treated as strictly necessary; it is registered under Category 3 in section 5.3 and is not placed unless you consent to analytics cookies.

This cookie is consent-gated (Category 3) and is configured not to be placed before you have given consent to analytics cookies. If you do not consent to analytics cookies, it is not set; checkout and order fulfilment operate normally without it. Apart from tk_or, no third-party or client-side analytics cookies are currently active — see section 4, Category 3.
5.4 Marketing Cookies
None currently active. See section 4, Category 4.
5.5 Device Fingerprinting
None used for non-essential purposes. We do not place any device-fingerprinting technology for analytics, advertising, tracking, audience measurement, or profiling, and therefore there is no consent-gated fingerprinting entry in this register. Any processing of device or connection characteristics by our security and fraud-prevention systems is strictly-necessary processing within the meaning of Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (see sections 2 and 4, Category 1, and sections 4.6 and 8 of our Privacy Policy): it is transient, is not stored on your device as a persistent identifier, and is not used to track you across sessions or websites. Should we ever introduce fingerprinting for any non-essential purpose, it will be added to this register with its category, purpose and duration and, unless strictly necessary, gated behind consent through the consent tool before it operates.
6. Third-Party Cookies and Services
6.1 Omnisend (Email Marketing)
If you have subscribed to our email marketing communications, Omnisend (Omnisend UAB, a Lithuanian company) may set a cookie or pixel in marketing emails to track whether an email was opened and whether a link was clicked.
Email open- and click-tracking via pixel is a non-essential technology used only where you have consented to receive marketing emails. This tracking occurs solely in connection with email communications sent after you have provided that consent; it does not operate as a cross-site tracking mechanism on the Website itself. You can prevent it by not consenting to (or by withdrawing your consent to) marketing emails, by configuring your email client to block remote images, or by unsubscribing at any time using the link in every marketing message.
Within our suite, Omnisend processing of your data is treated as resident in Lithuania (EEA), consistent with section 10.1 of our Privacy Policy. Where any Omnisend processing of your data were to involve a transfer outside the EEA, the applicable transfer safeguard identified in our Privacy Policy would apply.

6.2 BTCPay Server
Our cryptocurrency payment gateway is self-hosted on our own infrastructure. No personal data is transmitted to a third-party payment processor when you pay with cryptocurrency. The BTCPay session cookie listed in section 5.1 is a strictly necessary, first-party cookie.
6.3 No External Advertising or Tracking Networks
We do not embed cookies, pixels, or scripts from Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, or any other advertising or behavioural tracking network. We do not operate affiliate tracking or cross-site retargeting, and we do not employ device or browser fingerprinting for any tracking, profiling, or advertising purpose.
7. Consent: How We Obtain and Record It
7.1 Consent Banner
When you first visit the Website, you will see a cookie consent banner that:
(a) explains clearly that we use cookies;
(b) presents the cookie categories with a brief description of each;
(c) allows you, on the first layer of the banner and with equal prominence, to (i) accept all cookies, or (ii) reject all non-essential cookies, in each case by a single action requiring no more steps than acceptance; and additionally allows you to customise your preferences by category;
(d) includes a link to this Cookie Policy for full details;
(e) does not pre-tick or pre-select consent for any non-essential category;
(f) requires a clear affirmative action (clicking “Accept all”, “Reject all”, or selecting categories and confirming) before any non-essential cookie is placed;
(g) is designed so that refusing non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them: it uses no pre-ticked boxes, no deceptive design or “dark patterns”, and gives equal visual weight and placement to the “Reject all” and “Accept all” options.
Continuing to scroll, navigate, or use the Website without interacting with the consent tool does not constitute consent to non-essential cookies. Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are placed.
7.2 Consent Records
We record each consent event with the following information: timestamp, cookie categories accepted, version of the Cookie Policy presented at the time of consent, and the domain. This record is stored in a first-party cookie (condor_cookie_consent) and in our server-side consent log.
7.3 Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw or modify your cookie consent at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it. You may:
(a) click the “Cookie Settings” link in the Website footer (re-opens the consent tool);
(b) clear cookies in your browser and reload the Website (the consent banner will reappear);
(c) use your browser’s built-in cookie management tools (see section 8);
(d) use the “Reject all” control, which remains available with equal prominence each time the consent tool is re-opened.
Withdrawal of consent is effective from the moment of withdrawal. It does not affect any processing that lawfully took place while consent was active. Withdrawal of consent for functional cookies may affect certain Website features (e.g., saved preferences).
7.4 Consent Refresh
We will re-request consent where:
(a) your consent has expired (after 12 months from the last consent event);
(b) we introduce material changes to our cookie use that require fresh consent;
(c) a previous consent record cannot be verified.
8. How to Manage Cookies Through Your Browser
All major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. This affects all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, which may impair Website functionality.

Note that blocking cookies through your browser is a device-level setting and does not record a consent decision in our system. For purposes of our consent log, please use the consent tool on the Website.
9. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal when this option is enabled. There is currently no legally binding standard governing how websites must respond to DNT signals. At this time, the Website does not alter its behaviour in response to DNT signals. We rely on our cookie consent tool — which, by default, places no non-essential cookies until you affirmatively consent — as the mechanism for respecting your preferences.
10. Cookie Lifetime and Storage
Cookies set by the Website may be:
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser;
- Persistent cookies — stored for a fixed period (see section 5) and deleted either by browser management tools or upon expiry.
We periodically review the cookies in active use on the Website and update this Policy accordingly. If a new cookie is introduced that requires consent, the consent tool will be updated to present the new information before the cookie is set.

We may update this Cookie Policy at any time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in legal requirements, or changes to our service providers. Material changes will be reflected in an updated “Last updated” date and version number. Where changes introduce new non-essential cookies, we will refresh the consent tool and seek fresh consent before placing those cookies.
